There are few titles in sports-entertainment with as rich a history as the Intercontinental Championship, a prize fought for and defended by such elite in-ring icons as Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, Bret "Hit Man" Hart and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. At WWE Payback, relative newcomer Fandango hoped to add his own uniquely-pronounced name to that legendary list of greats, but a concussion sustained at last week's SmackDown taping up ensured that his dance with destiny would have to wait.
WWE.com has learned SmackDown General Manager Booker T underwent successful surgey on Tuesday to repair a partial distal triceps tear in his left arm. After tweeting his gratitude to the WWE Universe Tuesday night, the WWE Hall of Famer expects to be back on the blue brand very soon.

Hulk Hogan and WWE were synonymous for a more than a decade. In 1984, the muscular marvel catapulted WWE from a territory in the northeastern United States to a global phenomeon. The Hulkster regined as WWE Champion for the most of the '80s, standing tell next to Mr. T following their victory at the inaugural WrestleMania, bodyslamming Andre the Giant in front of the 93,173, hosting "Saturday Night Live," and gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated.
No fewer than six championships will be decided Sunday at WWE Payback, and that's saying nothing of the match that holds perhaps the most intrigue for the WWE Universe, CM Punk's return to in-ring action against Chris Jericho.
Sports-entertainment can often be a family affair. There are many second and third-generation competitors upholding — and often surpassing — the legacies of their predecessors while competing in WWE. However, there have been instances where Superstars are not only following in their fathers’ footsteps, but brawling alongside them in the squared circle.
